“Homo sapiens (I’m an Animal)” is a ridiculously fun, dark dance-rock track about a very un-funny problem: what happens when an animal can no longer tolerate the artificial world its own species has built?
“Homo, Homo, Homo sapiens” becomes an infectious, primal chant over electric guitars, organ and driving bass, building through a fake drop before the real one hits hard. Playful, physical and slightly unhinged, it’s an ecological crisis disguised as an absolute banger.
Homo sapiens means “wise human.” The song turns that name into an uncomfortable joke: we call ourselves wise while taking from the land without giving back and destroying the natural systems we depend on. It asks whether we can stop fighting the natural world and learn to grow with it instead.

Artist bio
Annie Webb is a Montréal-based independent songwriter, recording artist, and visual creator. Working in both English and French, she writes, performs, produces, and creates her own artwork and videos.
Blending rock, folk, and experimental pop, her music is melodic, harmony-rich, and guitar- and piano/organ-driven, with influences ranging from Jeff Buckley and Björk to Muse and Metallica. Her songs move between introspection, absurdity, and curiosity, exploring identity, human behaviour, connection, and the strange experience of being alive.
